Kel Sells But She Also Volunteers!

One of the things that stands out about Kelley is her heart for serving others.

Kelley Skillin-Smith volunteers with Dream Factory Portland, the local chapter of The Dream Factory—an all-volunteer organization devoted to granting dreams for critically and chronically ill children.

As a volunteer, she helps plan and support dream-granting experiences, assists with fundraising efforts, coordinates special details for each child, and helps create joyful, meaningful moments for families facing difficult circumstances.

Whether it’s organizing an event, delivering a surprise, or simply offering encouragement, Kelley is part of the team that helps turn hope into something real. It’s a beautiful reflection of the care and compassion she brings into everything she does.

There’s something really special about the way Kelley shows up for her community.

In addition to her work as a broker, Kelley actively supports Harvest Hills Animal Shelter in Fryeburg by featuring a “Pup of the Month”—a heartfelt spotlight on a dog currently available for adoption.

Each month, she shares the story of a special pet, like sweet Zeke, helping people see beyond just a photo and into the personality and potential of a loving companion. She highlights their temperament, quirks, and what kind of home would suit them best, giving them a voice and a better chance at finding the right match.

Even more meaningful, Kelley donates a portion of her real estate commissions—when clients mention her shelter ad—directly back to Harvest Hills. It’s her way of turning home sales into second chances.

Through simple, consistent acts of generosity, Kelley helps connect families not only with houses… but with loyal four-legged friends who are waiting for a place to call home.

Kelley’s support of Harvest Hills Animal Shelter goes beyond her monthly “Pup of the Month” features.

She also helps spread the word about the shelter’s annual Freezin’ for a Reason polar dip—an energetic winter fundraiser where brave participants take the plunge to raise money for the animals in their care. Events like this bring the community together while providing critical support for the shelter’s mission.

Along with the dogs she highlights, Kelley reminds people that there are also loving cats and kittens waiting for homes. Through her outreach and generosity, she helps give these animals greater visibility—and a better chance at finding the families they deserve.
